My First Adventure: A Winter Walk at UBC

This article is also available in: 日本語 | 中文

On a crisp and sunny winter day, I had my very first outing with Mommy and Daddy—to none other than the beautiful campus of the University of British Columbia. I was bundled up warmly in my stroller, ready to discover the world for the very first time.

Our stroll began at the iconic Main Mall Fountain, where the shimmering water danced under the blue sky. Mommy snapped a photo of me in my stroller with the words “THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA” glistening behind me. It was quiet but full of life—students walking, birds fluttering, and sunlight casting soft shadows across the stone path.

As we wandered further, we reached the heart of campus where the Canadian flag stood tall, waving proudly against the mountains and sky. Daddy wheeled me along the wide path while Mommy admired the scenery. Everything felt so calm and grand.

Our next stop was the UBC Rose Garden. From the upper deck, we had a perfect view of the garden’s beautiful geometric layout, the ocean sparkling in the distance, and the majestic mountains standing tall behind it all. Mommy posed with me there, her smile full of joy. I had my bottle and watched the world quietly from my cozy spot.

Later, we stopped inside to warm up. I relaxed with my pacifier under a fluffy pink blanket while a small bag of Skittles peeked out beside me—though those were for Mommy and Daddy, not me just yet!

Before heading home, we picked up a few souvenirs to remember this special day: two adorable UBC moose plush toys, a keepsake coaster, and a cute bear-shaped water bottle—all bearing the UBC name.

Though I won’t remember the details, Mommy and Daddy captured it all in photos and stories. This was more than just a walk—it was my very first adventure, a gentle introduction to the world beyond home, and the start of many beautiful memories to come.
